REACH & CLP Compliance: XPCHEM Expands Chemical Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Authoring Services

In response to evolving EU REACH and CLP regulations, XPCHEM has expanded its chemical regulatory services to include SDS authoring, substance classification, and hazard communication support — helping chemical manufacturers maintain compliance across European and global markets.
The European Union's REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) regulations continue to evolve, with significant updates to substance classifications, SDS format requirements, and downstream user obligations. XPCHEM has expanded its chemical regulatory services to help manufacturers, importers, and downstream users navigate these requirements with confidence.
XPCHEM's expanded SDS authoring service covers the full lifecycle of Safety Data Sheet development and maintenance. Our regulatory chemists prepare SDS documents in accordance with REACH Annex II (as amended by Regulation (EU) 2020/878), ensuring compliance with the 16-section format, mandatory exposure scenario annexes, and the latest harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) entries under CLP.
Substance classification under CLP requires a systematic evaluation of available hazard data — including physicochemical properties, toxicological data, and ecotoxicological information — against the classification criteria in Annex I of the CLP Regulation. XPCHEM's regulatory team conducts data gap analyses, commissions targeted testing where required, and prepares classification justification dossiers that can withstand regulatory scrutiny.
For substances subject to REACH registration, XPCHEM provides support with Chemical Safety Report (CSR) preparation, exposure scenario development, and communication of safe use conditions through the supply chain. Our team has experience with both standard registration dossiers and the more complex requirements for substances of very high concern (SVHCs) subject to authorisation.
Beyond the EU, XPCHEM's regulatory services extend to GHS implementation in non-EU markets including the UK (UK REACH), Turkey (TR REACH), South Korea (K-REACH), and the US (OSHA HazCom 2012). Our global regulatory network ensures that clients can maintain consistent hazard communication standards across all markets in which they operate.
"Chemical regulations are becoming more complex and more demanding every year," said Dr. Elena Vasquez, Head of Regulatory Affairs at XPCHEM. "Our expanded SDS authoring service gives chemical manufacturers access to the expertise they need to stay compliant without having to build that capability in-house. We handle the regulatory complexity so our clients can focus on their core business."
